7D SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are now hiring responsible individuals for the 2021-2022 school year who like working with children and enjoy part-time work hours. 

MTI will assist with training and acquiring applicants' 7D licenses. When applying, we ask that you have a strong driver history (minimal to no accidents or surcharges), be at least 21 years of age, and have has a Massachusetts driver's license for three (3) consecutive years. You must bring a copy of your driver's history to interview. If hired, pre-employment screenings will be conducted as a CORI and initial drug testing.

  • Safely operate a motor vehicle, in accordance with all State and Federal traffic laws, while driving school-aged children and ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including sedans, mini-vans, full-size passenger, and wheelchair vans

  • Safely assist students as needed on and off the vehicle and make sure all are buckled in safely 

  • Follow all company policies and regulations

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, teachers, and Malden Trans staff

  • Must be able to commit to no less than both mornings (6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m) and afternoons (1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) routes. Hours are approximate and can be shorter or longer and will vary based on the assigned route

  • Must have a safe and accessibly location at home to park company vehicle legally and/or off-street

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors

  • Must demonstrate a willingness to work effectively with school-aged children

JOB DUTIES

*For experienced drivers possessing a 7D: Starting pay is $16.25/hr. Reliable attendance and driving (no accidents and violations) from Sept through June can increase pay to $16.75/hr going into summer and the following school year.

*First-time 7D applicant: We will help you obtain 7D and starting pay is $16/hr. Reliable attendance and driving (no accidents or violations) from Sept through June can increase pay to $16.50/hr going into summer and following school year.
